NFT marketplace is growing at a rapid pace. There is no doubt that NFT is going to be the future. They are, in fact, the talk of the town. Their total trade volume can say it. Last year, it was about $40 Billion, and this year, it is expected to grow more and reach a height of $70 Billion.
Recently, Agora, an NFT marketplace, has announced a partnership with blockchain solution company Zilliqa. Zilliqa will host the Agora events and the NFT World Festival as part of their arrangement. These events are set to release in Zilliqa’s upcoming metaverse set events. In addition to that, Zilliqa will list five winning art pieces from the awards. They will be placed on their new “artist first” NFT marketplace, which will go live in the upcoming months.
The Agora marketplace
Agora, founded in 2016, stays determined to provide its artists compensation for their hard work and efforts. Agora marketplace has over 3.5 million downloads in over 90 countries, making it one of the largest marketplaces for digital art. This digital art remains inside the gallery. They are available anytime in the gallery for anyone to look and admire and also have an option to purchase. Agora’s marketplace is open both on IOS and Andriod play stores.
In 2018, they launched the Agora Awards for the very first time. Its main motto was to celebrate the talents of the iconic and emerging artists, from photographic artwork to musical creations. The selected winners of the events were awarded a cash price which started from $25,000. However, this year it will be bigger than last year. The selected five winning pieces will also find a listing on Zilliqa’s upcoming “artist first” marketplace known as Rialto.
Zilliqa and the Agora and Zilliqa Partnership
Zilliqa offers scalable blockchain solutions for enterprises and Dapps, which provides innovative network solutions. Industry experts and financial specialists develop it. Zilliqa’s technology has completed over 34 million transactions since its launch. The partnership between Zilliqa and Agora marketplace for its upcoming events to host the world’s first-ever NFT festival upon “Metapolis” is currently the talk of the town in the Web3 community. Metapolis is, however, Zilliqa’s gamified XR metaverse platform.
Octavi Royo, the founder of Agora, says, Our mission is to empower young talents and grant access to these talent present anywhere. Partnering with Zilliqa is an excellent step in that process.”
Sandra Helou, Head of Metaverse and NFT, Zilliqa, says, “Metapolis aims to support not just brands and businesses but also independent apps, talent, and entrepreneurs such that they will flourish in the borderless creator economy. The metaverse will excel if it gives global creators a chance to thrive in the space”. He further added, “Agora Awards was totally in sync with our vision. Taking ownership of new business models and being adequately compensated, applauded, and recognized for their work is what we want, and agora awards provide that”.
This will likely be a successful partnership because both companies have ideal motives. They both want the global creators to come in and make this metaverse a global thing, not just the European and rich country thing.
