Batman NFTs released by DC to Ethereum

    The Bat Cowl collection

DC’s engagement with Palm NFT Studio for the DC FanDome streaming event last fall was only the beginning of the comic book giant’s NFT ambitions. The firms announced today that Batman-themed NFTs will be released in April, with two years of promised advantages.

The Bat Cowl Collection of Batman NFTs which will debut on April 26, will include 200,000 NFTs, each showing a 3D replica of the superhero’s famous mask, or cowl. Each NFT will be one-of-a-kind, drawing inspiration from Batman’s 83-year comic book history and showcasing a variety of colors, styles, and mask shapes. Each NFT will set you back $300.

    Palm – sidechain

An NFT functions similarly to a blockchain-backed receipt in that it establishes ownership of a digital item. The Bat Cowl NFTs will be minted on Palm, an Ethereum sidechain scaling solution that makes transactions faster, cheaper, and more energy-efficient than on the Ethereum main net in these circumstances.

The image associated with the NFT, like many other initiatives today, is only one aspect of the broader value proposition. In this situation, DC has pledged a two-year plan with a variety of features, perks, and conveniences for holders.

Holders of Bat Cowl NFTs will gain access to a special fan forum on the DC Universe website, as well as unique goods, fan events, and behind-the-scenes stuff. In addition, DC intends to add “metaverse integrations” and augmented reality experiences to the feature set.

    The metaverse supports NFT-based games

More information on the metaverse plans was unavailable, according to a Palm NFT Studio spokesperson. Users interact with avatars in 3D environments in the metaverse, which is a more immersive future internet. Early examples include Ethereum-based, NFT-driven games like Decentraland and The Sandbox.

Collectors who received the complimentary DC FanDome NFTs will be able to purchase the Bat Cowl NFTs first. CEO Dan Heyman told Decrypt in December that Palm NFT Studio distributed many hundred thousand free FanDome NFTs. According to a press release, DC wants to “integrate” the Bat Cowl NFTs into “future storylines.”

    About the Palm Sidechain

Palm NFT Studio is a creative studio that builds on the Palm sidechain. It has already produced projects on Palm, including Damien Hirst’s NFTs and collectibles based on DC’s parent company, Warner Bros.’ film “Space Jam 2: A New Legacy.”

ConsenSys, an Ethereum investment firm that also runs the editorially independent Decrypt, is backing the studio. Palm NFT Studio announced a $27 million Series B investment round in December, sponsored by Microsoft’s M12 venture fund, with participation from Warner Bros. and other investors.

Palm NFT Studio isn’t the only big name on the Palm platform. Fanatics’ Candy Digital, which specializes in sports NFTs and has licenses with Major League Baseball and WWE, as well as NFT startup Nifty’s, used the Ethereum scaling solution to drop 100,000 NFTs based on The Matrix Resurrections.
