What are the lifetime passes for Coachella and how to get them?

The famous music festival launched its NFT marketplace on February 1. The platform is built by the cryptocurrency exchange FTX US and will showcase three collections of NFTs that will go on sale on February 4.

There will be a total of three collections. The first one is the Coachella Keys Collection, which would feature a set of 10 NFTs that will give the buyers a ticket or a “key” to unlock the Coachella festival. Apart from these, physical and digital valuables will also be put up for sale. The perks of having an NFT key will include exclusive benefits at the 2022 festival, such as front-row seating and dinner prepared by a celebrity chef. The offerings and benefits are subject to a yearly change.

The music festival is also set to release two limited-edition NFT drops, in addition to the ten lifetime-pass NFTs.

The second set from the first drop is named The Desert Reflections Collection. This collection will have photos froCoachella’s’sfroCoachella’s’s events that are paired with tangible objects such as posters and photobooks, including the ten digital interpretations of Coachella in posters made by digital artist Emek. There will be 1,000 NFT tokens in this collection, and their price is set at 180 US dollars each.

The last collection is The Sights and Sounds collection. This will include ten different” “all-time fan-favori “e” festival photo pairings as well a” “never heard before unique soundscapes, from the Polo Fiel “s” by the company. Featuring 10,000 editions, this NFT collection is priced at 60 US dollars per piece.

Coachella minted its NFTs on Solana, as stated by Coachella’s Innovation lead, Sam Schoonover. They wanted to use such an energy-efficient blockchain platform that was inexpensive and didn’t require a high transaction fee and hence went for Solana.

Sam also mentioned that selling these NFTs will further bridge the gap between them and their audience while also assisting artists, photographers, designers, and creators in generating revenue for their hard work.

A portion of the proceeds from the revenue generated by selling NFT tickets will be donated by Coachella. The donations will go to some well-known non-profit organizations. The list includes GiveDirectly, a non-profit organization that allows people to donate directly to people in need; Lideres Campesinas, which works to strengthen the leadership and condition of farmworker women and girls; and Find Food Bank, a regional food bank in the Coachella Valley region.

This is not the first time tickets were sold as NFTs, but lifetime passes are still very rare, especially for the Coachella Valley Music Festival.
Previously, Kings of Leon auctioned off six distinct” “Golden Tick “t” NFTs in March of 2021, each of which guaranteed the owner four front-row seats to one concert of the band’s headlining tours for the rest of their lives.
