What are hot drops?
Hot Drops, an NFT marketplace that allows mainstream and adult NFTs to coexist securely on the same platform, announced the debut of its platform at NFT.LA today, after raising more than $2.4 million in seed capital in an oversubscribed round.
Transform Ventures founder Michael Terpin, who has worked with over 200 Blockchain PR clients, and David Jensen, who developed and led EY’s Global Innovation and Digital Business unit through a period of exponential expansion, are among the lead investors and advisors. Other advisors and investors come from the Playstation, Playboy, and Hollywood worlds, respectively.
How can hot drops aid the community?
Hot Drops aims to address long-standing problems in the entertainment industry, with the platform paving the road to becoming a leader in the protection of minors who access sexual content.
“Through age-verified accounts to purchase or view content and an invite-only acceptance mechanism for established creators, it is ahead of the curve on the enforcement of rules being implemented in various nations around the world.” Hot Drops is “changing the paradigm of free content by rewarding loyal fans for purchasing material in a gamified experience,” according to a statement released by the company.
Hot drops to implement new techniques
“Over the following weeks, the platform will include more privacy, anti-piracy, authentication, community building, and flexible payment choices of fiat and major cryptocurrencies to tap into traditionally unbanked regions,” it stated.
Hot Drops will launch a two-sided marketplace later this year for buying, selling, and renting creative material, monetizing brands, and allowing content producers to collect royalties on their work for the first time, even after they retire.
The Dirty Dozen, the first 12 creators on Hot Drops, is a group of celebrities including Dani Daniels, Brandi Love, Cherie Deville, Alison Tyler, Elsa Jean, Lauren Phillips, Kenna James, Alex Coal, Reagan Foxx, Shyla Jennings, Joanna Angel, and Eva Lovia, who have a combined social media following of more than 30 million.
Collector Access Pass
For a limited time, the Collector Access Pass for the drop is currently on sale for $29.99, after which it will increase to $99.99. Purchasers get first access to NFT drops as well as a 10% discount on material for a year. The initial content creator drops will be available in mid-April. On the platform, collections will continue to drop each week from various creators.
Hot Drops is sponsored by a group of industry heavyweights, including Ashley Youdan, a former content creator who switched careers to computer science and entrepreneurship.
